From August to early October 1921 the domestic letter rate was increased from 6ch to 10ch for the first 2 misghal. this cover was most likely over 2 misghal and recieved postage due marking in Tehran. A rectangular military censor, 47mm x 12.5 in black ink was applied by Reza Khan forces near meched (IPSC 12P25) on back of the cover.

25-Nov-1896 - Registered open-letter rate cover from Tabriz to Paris, using 1876 5ch mauve & black envelope franked with a vertical strip of five and three copies of 1ch as well as vertical pair of 2 of 1894 issue (all perf. 12.5) paying a total of 17ch (3ch open-letter rate + 12ch registration rate, 2ch overpaid), cancelled by ‘TABRIZ 25/11’ departure as well as ‘PARIS 15 DEC 96’ arrival postmarks. In 1896, the 1876 5ch envelope was demonetized and was no longer in circulation. The sender was a known stamp dealer and using his connection with the post office was able to still use the 5ch envelope. The cover is genuine in all respects.
